Shirley's Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Saturday, Augat 10:00 AM in the St. ![]() Visitation for Shirley will be on Friday, Augfrom 5:00-7:00 PM in the Hanneman-Chudzinski-Keller Funeral Home, 416 S. Shirley had an adventurous spirit but most of all loved her family and cherished the time she spent with them. She enjoyed a good game of Scrabble and loved traveling all around the world, especially to Italy. Shirley was an avid reader and always had a book in her hand. She was also a member of Blessed Sacrament Confraternity, Serra International Club, Living Rosary Society, Palette Club, Gardening Club, Friends of Birchard Library, Cosmopolitan Club, several card clubs, the Women's Auxiliary to the Sandusky County Medical Society, Harvard Medical School & Brigham and Women's Hospital Nurses' Health Study. One her proudest accomplishments was traveling to Berekum, Ghana in 1959 with her husband where they served for a year with the Medical Mission Sisters of Philadelphia at Holy Family Hospital. Shirley then went to work at Lakewood Hospital as a Registered Nurse. Shirley was a 1949 graduate of West Hazelton High School and then furthered her education and graduated from Hazleton State General Hospital's School of Nursing. Mary (John) Miller, Colorado Springs CO Monica (Lawrence) McCarthy, Overland Park, KS John Gfoeller, Toledo, OH. Shirley is survived her children: Margret Gfoeller, Fremont OH Joachim Gfoeller, Jr., Fremont OH Michael (Tatiana) Gfoeller, Washington, D.C. ![]() Mel's Catholic Church in Cleveland, and he preceded her in death. Shirley was born on Apin West Hazelton, Pennsylvania to the late Dominic and Rose (Walker) Antonelli.
